The Member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, has commiserated with the family of the late Albert Michael Obionwa of Idung Mkpe in Ibit Eyo, Ikpa, Esit Eket Local Government Area, over their irreplaceable loss.
In a condolence message to the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Albert Obionwa, on Friday during the funeral service, Hon. Etteh said he was saddened by the untimely exit of her husband, whom he described as a friend, a trusted political ally, and a brother.
Hon. Etteh, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, said “The late Obionwa’s honesty, trustworthiness, and unwavering dedication to his principles inspired and influenced many. His presence made a significant impact in our lives and in the community he served.”
He prayed and encouraged the family to be consoled by the indelible memories and positive legacies that the late Albert Obionwa left behind, saying the deceased “was a dependable and supportive friend and father, a devoted Christian and a peace advocate. He will be remembered for the spirited, elegant, and impactful life that he lived.”
Until his death, the late Obionwa, aged 56, was the Village Head of Idung Mkpe in Esit Eket L.G.A and held a chieftaincy title of Otuekong Itu.
Some of the dignitaries at the funeral service, which was conducted by the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, included Esit Eket Local Government Council Chairman, Engr. Iniobong Robson; Esit Eket Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Eddy Etangnkanga; former Ibeno Chapter Chairman of PDP, Hon. Ekoakwaha Etteh; the Political Leader of Esit Eket Zone B, Elder Enobong Udo-Asubop.among others.
