The member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, on Thursday, hailed the Supreme Court’s judgment, which affirmed Pastor Umo Eno as “the politically elected, legally inaugurated and judicially confirmed Governor of Akwa Ibom State.”

Hon. Etteh made this known following the Justice Uwani Abba-Aji-Panel dismissal of the appeals by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and the Action Alliance (AC), based on the non-qualification of Pastor Eno over allegations of certificate forgery.

He maintained that “the apex Court ruling has put paid to speculations, intimidations and all activities of the oppositions. It has repositioned Akwa Ibom for peace, unity, progress and prosperity.”

The National Assemblyman congratulated the State Governor on the well-deserved victory and called on stakeholders and the people of the state to “join hands and make the Akwa Ibom Project, as led by Pastor Umo Eno, a success for all.”

Speaking further, Hon. Etteh, who is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education said “Pastor Umo Eno has shown resilience, steadfastness and commitment to the Akwa Ibom project as enshrined in the ARISE Agenda by his action in the political development of Akwa Ibom State. To this end, I sincerely congratulate him on this landmark victory.”
