The Member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, has commiserated with Professor Dorothy Ufot and family over the demise their mother, the late Princess Affiong Samuel Ukot, who passed away at the age of 94.
He joined dignitaries and well-wishers to bid final farewell to the decease during a funeral service in her honour at the Ibeno Local Government Council Secretariat Grounds, Upenekang, on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Hon. Etteh, in his condolence, extolled the virtues of the deceased, describing her as a virtuous woman, a peace advocate, a beacon of hope and inspiration who lived a spirited, elegant and impactful life with great devotion to God and humanity.
“As we bid farewell to a great mother and a matriarch, we are reminded of the legacy of love. Her contributions to humanity and the society are immeasurable, and her memory will remain a source of strength to all who knew her,” he stressed.
“I pray the Almighty God to give you the fortitude and courage to bear this irreplaceable loss. May the family be consoled by the indelible memories and positive legacies she left behind,” he prayed.
The late Princess Ukot, mother of legal luminary Prof. Dorothy Udeme Ufot SAN, was celebrated for her life of grace, wisdom, and dedication to her family and community.
The funeral service drew a host of prominent personalities, including Chief Biodun Shobanjo, Atedo Peterside, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State Mr. Udom Emmanuel, his deputy, Moses Ekpo; State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Aniekan Akpan; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and Paul Usoro SAN.
