The member representing the Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, has lauded the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for demonstrating true leadership as the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Hon. Etteh, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, who made this known on Sunday while speaking with journalists in Upenekang, Ibeno Local Government Area, commended Governor Eno’s commitment to unity and progress within the party, which, according to him, has solidified its stronghold in the state.
The federal lawmaker, who exercised his franchise through the ballot during the Saturday Local Government Election in Upenekang, also congratulated the new chairmen of the four Local Government Areas in his constituency following the successful conclusion of the polls.
He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Akaninyene Tomney (Eket), Hon. Kufre Umoren (ONNA), Mrs. Inemesit Ikot (Esit Eket), and Mrs. Glory Ekah (Ibeno) for their well-deserved victories at the polls.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Etteh commended the resilience, dedication, and hard work of the newly elected and sworn in chairmen, emphasizing that their “victories are for the people and must foster grassroots development.”
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education further lauded the peaceful conduct of the election and expressed optimism that the new chairmen will build on the successes of their predecessors to deliver on the mandate given to them by the people.
“Your emergence is a testament to the trust the people have in your capacity to deliver effective governance. I am confident that you will work tirelessly to ensure sustainable development, improve the standard of living, and bring innovative solutions to the challenges facing our local governments,” he said.
While urging the new chairmen to remain focused, transparent, and accountable in their administration to sustain the confidence reposed in them by their constituents, Hon. Etteh reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with the newly local government officials to strengthen development initiatives and human capital advancement across the federal constituency.
Hon. Etteh further commended the PDP leadership at all levels for ensuring a smooth and credible electoral process, stating that the success of the election reflects the party’s dedication to promoting democracy and good governance in Akwa Ibom State.
