The Member representing Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, Rep. Okpolupm Etteh, on Friday joined family members, friends, and well-wishers to pay his final respects to Late Deaconess Eno John Ekott, who passed away at the age of 80.

 

The solemn funeral service, officiated by The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Eket Field, was held at the Cenotaph, Eket Sports Stadium, and drew a large turnout of mourners from across Akwa Ibom State and beyond.

 

Until her passing, Deaconess Eno John Ekott was a devoted Christian and the mother of Dr. Emmanuel Ekott, the Founder of Heritage Polytechnic, Ikot Udota, in Eket Local Government Area.

 

Speaking at the event, Rep. Etteh described the deceased as “a woman of deep faith, compassion, and integrity, whose life of service to God and humanity continues to be an inspiration to many.” He noted that her enduring legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the values she instilled in her family and community.

 

The funeral was graced by top government functionaries, political leaders, clergy, and dignitaries, all gathered to celebrate the remarkable life and impact of the departed matriarch.

 

May her gentle soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
