…Urges Beneficiary to Be a Good Ambassador of the Constituency
In recognition of his commitment to human capital development and youth empowerment, the Member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Ikpong Etteh, has been commended for facilitating the recruitment of a constituent, Mr. Enoch Abraham, into the Nigeria Police Force.
The commendation was made by the Village Head-elect of Odoro Enen Village, Chief Enodien George Umoetuk, during a brief reception organized by the Enodien Ruling Family in honour of the newly recruited officer on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Speaking at the event held at his palace, Chief Enodien congratulated the young officer and charged him to uphold the ethics and core values of the Nigeria Police Force. He urged him to be guided by integrity, fairness, and professionalism in the discharge of his duties, while shunning corruption, indiscipline, and misconduct.
“You must be a good ambassador of our community and of the Nigeria Police Force. Uphold the values of honesty, service, and discipline at all times,”
Chief Enodien advised.
Chief Enodien also expressed profound appreciation to Rt. Hon. Etteh for his continuous support to the people of the constituency, describing him as “a leader with a passion for empowering his people.” He equally extended gratitude to Dr. Tommy Enodien, a former Commissioner in the Board of EARCOM, for his contributions toward ensuring the successful enlistment of the young officer.
Recounting the Enodien family’s rich history of service in the Nigeria Police Force, Chief Enodien mentioned Late Rev. Willie Okon Enodien, who joined the Force in 1959, served with the United Nations Peace Corps (1969–1970), and later became the Officer-in-Charge of the Cross River State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) before retiring as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) in 1994.
He urged the new officer to emulate the sterling example of late Rev. Willie Enodien and remain steadfast in his career.
“My joy knows no bounds seeing our son return home as an officer. I sincerely thank Rt. Hon. Etteh for facilitating his enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force,” Chief Enodien added.
Other family members who spoke during the event also congratulated Officer Enoch Abraham, urging him to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated in service to the nation.
In his response, Officer Enoch Abraham expressed gratitude to Rt. Hon. Etteh, Dr. Tommy Enodien, and members of the Enodien family for their support and encouragement, pledging to be a worthy representative of his community and to serve the nation diligently.
“I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and for the support I’ve received from my leaders and family. I promise to serve with honour and make my community proud,” he said.
